The company develops principled, purpose driven leaders and equips individuals and organizations with the clarity, capability, and confidence to lead meaningful change. Jamal Fox’s career spans state and local government, regulatory leadership, nonprofit and community focused organizations, economic development, public policy, education, and organizational transformation. Across these roles, he has led or helped oversee organizations with combined budget authority exceeding $6 billion and workforces of up to 8,500 employees. His work is grounded in service, integrity, accountability, courage, and the responsibility to leave people and institutions stronger.
Executive Leadership Experience
Across more than two decades, Jamal has served as Deputy Director of the Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs; Executive Director and CEO of the Oregon Board of Pharmacy; City Manager of Takoma Park, Maryland; City Administrator of Camas, Washington; Deputy Chief of Staff and Chief Operating Officer in the Office of the Mayor for Portland, Oregon; Property and Business Development Manager for Portland Parks & Recreation; Greensboro City Council Member; management analyst; educator; and adjunct professor. He has advised governors, mayors, city councils, governing boards, legislators, executive teams, community organizations, and business leaders.
Education & Public Service
Jamal holds a Master of Public Administration from Capella University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from North Carolina A&T State University. His leadership journey began in the classroom and public service and continues through executive leadership, organizational development, publishing, speaking, coaching, and consulting. He is also a husband, father of two, and member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
